Trash cans are ideal for commercial places that have large amounts of waste to handle by the end of the day. They are equally good for public places where people can dispose their leftovers or other stuff. However, garbage bins or any kind of trash cans should be covered so that there is minimal emanation of odor.
There are several types of metal trash cans available in the market. Many of the brands and models of trash cans have lids while others are open mouthed cans. Some type of trash cans have foot operated pedals that open the lid enabling you to throw the stuff inside. Some other types of trash cans have a slight cutting in the middle that allows you to slide off the waste stuff inside.
We did the research work for you and have prepared a list of the best metal trash can with lid. These trash cans have been reviewed for their quality of metal, size, any special features and price. You can check out the list to find the ideal metal trash can that suits your requirement.

This is a nice, well made metal can. Contrary to what another review implied, the lid locks nice and tight. Actually, the lid locks well onto the can without any need to put the handle in the upright position. Definitely locks well enough to withstand the strongest outside winds without being blown off. In fact, I was sortof mad at first because the lid was so difficult to remove and hurt my hands to do so. Then I found just the right way to pull on the lid with both hands and it comes off without trouble.I live in the city and just got a dog. I leave this garbage can on my front porch for depositing the bags of dog waste after I walk her. I just put a couple scrap brick pavers in the bottom for weight so the wind doesn’t blow it over. Again, I never bother to put the handle in the upright position because the lid locks so well. This can is really perfect for my use and is just what i was looking for. I am sure there are a million other unique uses this can would be perfect for as well. While it seems like a pretty simple item, it’s the type of thing you could go driving from store to store looking for and not find anything quite like it.

I’ve had this for a few years now and it has held up quite well. The small size lets it fit nicely tucked next to my wood stove on the stone hearth, but it’s large enough to safely contain all the ashes I’d ever clean out of the stove at once – so it’s well suited for this use. I painted it (with heat-safe paints) so that it would look more like a home accessory than a trash can.The handles have held up well, through all the times that I’ve carried it out to the spot where I bury ashes. The lid fits well. The only issue I’ve had at all is that the metallic finish on the inside of the bottom of the can has become a little corroded over time – which certainly isn’t a problem from an aesthetic standpoint, since nobody would ever look at the bottom of an ash can – but I will keep an eye on it as over another 5 years perhaps it would begin to wear through.

I used this can to make a Faraday cage, and it works great for that. I lined all of the can, as well as the lid, with cardboard, and was able to get a good seal without using the metal tape around the edge of the lid. (To determine whether the seal is adequate, you can put a transistor radio inside the can, and if it stops playing when you put the lid on, the seal is adequate. I tested it before I lined the lid, but the seal was not sufficient to stop the radio, so I lined it with cardboard and that worked fine.) At some point, I do plan to seal the lid with metal tape, just to be sure, and I hope that I will have enough warning to do that before we get an EMP. But if not, I feel pretty good knowing that it should work OK without the tape, and it only took a couple hours to line it with the cardboard. It sure is a lot cheaper than the Faraday cages you can buy, and it holds a lot of ‘stuff,’ as well. I stored a Coleman lantern with its batteries and extra batteries, 2 transistor radios and a short wave radio, a laptop computer, a solar charger, A bunch of all sizes of batteries, several flash lights, a camera, a Kindle tablet, a cell phone, and a bunch of smaller things. I wrapped most of the stuff in bubble wrap, just to be sure it doesn’t touch any metal. I really hope that “the real thing” never happens, to determine whether it works like it’s supposed to, but at least I have some peace of mind knowing that we should be able to “protect” some of the working electronics that we can no longer live without.

These are great for storage. I have four of them on my deck this winter; two hold the bird seed/sunflower seed for my outdoor feeders, one has cooled wood ash from the fireplace, and the third will hold kitchen compost until I can add it to the raised bed garden boxes in spring. They are sturdy and the handel, when positioned up, holds the cover on snuggly (so no blowing off in the winter wind.) Other 10 gal pails I found were short and squatty, or did not have a cover. The taller, narrower design lets me have room to line several of them up in a small space.

My old kitchen trash can was about twice as wide as this one, but of all the stuff I throw into it, most of it isn’t all that large to begin with. I replaced my old garbage bags about once every two weeks, so I’d expect to replace them once a week now. For the beauty of this trash can and the fact that it keeps odors from roaming free, it was well worth the purchase. It even has a little notch on the back for you to tie the pull strap of the garbage bag through. It’s key shaped, so when you finish filling the bag, you just lift the knot out of the socket and tie the bag up the rest of the way. Some models of the Simple Human trash cans have a plastic insert to help keep the bags up and not show outside of the garbage bag. This one doesn’t have that feature, but like I said above, it does have a nice key hole shaped slot to help keep the pull strap style bags up.This trash can comes with 10 FREE GARBAGE BAGS! If you’re considering buying simple human garbage bags or using the other types of garbage bags you can buy in the store, the 10 free bags will give you a chance to see the difference. I was able to easily place a cheap Glad garbage bag in it without any troubles as well. The cheap one I used doesn’t have a pull string, so it shows a bit on the outside of the can. To me it’s not such a big deal if I can see the trash bag outside of the can, but if it matters to you, go with the custom fit Simple Human bags that only show a little at the top and are nice and tight (relatively) to the can so it looks nicer.

We bought this can to fit the 55lb. dog food bag from Costco. It’s finish is industrial enough to be displayed in the kitchen without looking to rough and worn. The lid fits perfectly, the handles are well attached and lift easily to grab. I am very pleased with this purchase!

In love with a trash can!Ha just kidding(kind of), but this product”Nine Stars DZT-50-9 Infrared Touchless Stainless Steel Trash Can, 13.2-Gallon” is legit, amazing! We’ve had it for about 5 days now, and I relied heavily on reviews before purchasing. Due to that, I’m going to leave a detailed review for other shoppers. Hope this helps!First, there are SO many trash cans to choose from, with different features and a big price range. I was overwhelmed by it all, so I narrowed it down.I made a list of products that had the criteria I was looking for::: •Stainless steel, •Hands free (actually I had never considered a “fancy” infrared one, so initially I was just looking for a step trash can), •Less than $100, and •13 gallons.I narrowed my list to 10 products, then started review-elimination. I wrote the number of 4-5 star RECENT reviews, the product specifications, and price. I started X-ing products off, and this Nine Stars trash can was the winner!PROS:It arrived quickly. The instructions are clear and it’s easy to put it together. (I knew it did not come with batteries, so I bought the Amazon basic pack of C-batteries at the same time.) The open and close buttons are really convenient when you have multiple things to throw away, are emptying a vacuum cleaner, etc. The trash bag is pretty much hidden by the inner ring, and the can is overall very aesthetically pleasing. 13 gallon trash bags fit perfectly. When the lid is shut, any odors inside cannot be smelled. Even with a stinky diaper!CONS(totally not deal-breakers):If you walk too close to the can and some kind of shadow passes over the sensor, it’ll open (i.e. arms lifted at your side, wearing a flowy robe or shirt, tall dog sticks nose over it, etc.).Getting the trash bag set in the liner ring to put in the can is tricky at first, but you’ll get it after 2 or 3 times. On that note, if too much of the bag is tucked over the liner ring (more than just the top edge of the bag) then it could tear under the top slightly at removal.TIP::: (neither pro nor con) If you have kids, make sure you explain it’s a trash can(germs! Only to be used when throwing garbage away) and not a toy, so they won’t try to play with it!I’ve read reviews saying the lid dies right after the one year warranty, so I set an alarm on my calendar to check the lid when it gets close, and I’ll send it in to be replaced if I can notice any issues, even slight/minor ones. This concludes my review; I will update in the future if anything changes!

We bought this trashcan because our dogs kept getting into the trash. I loved it so much we bought a second one for our bathroom. We accidentally theough away the blavk plastic ring on the top so our lid was sliding off. I sent the seller an email and within the same day they had replied amd said the part was in the mail. I was shocked. They did not even charge me for the spare part. Great customer service. We have not ha any problems with the trashcan ourselves. We have had them for around 3 months and the batteries still work.

Bought this for our bathroom, and have just ordered 2 more for our other 2 bathrooms. The rectangular shape and size of this tucks nicely alongside the toilet. It’s smaller than I imagined, even knowing its measurements, but for a bathroom it’s all we need.Half a star deduction because although it’s perfectly sized to be used with plastic shopping bags, the insert is a little taller than the can. This means that when you fold a plastic bag liner over the top of the insert, it’s visible even with the lid closed.I solved this by using a paper bag as an insert within the insert. (see customer images) I folded down the top of the paper bag so it’s a couple of inches shorter than the insert. I line this paper insert with the plastic bag, then set this down into the plastic insert. This way, the plastic bag does not show.I love the soft close lid – – it gently closes itself without slamming. If you open the lid manually, or keep your foot on the pedal, it will stay open . . . if you use the foot pedal, it opens, then almost immediately begins to close. It stays open for just a second or so to give you enough time to drop your waste in.As a side note, we have a kitty litter box in our bathroom and this does not allow enough room for the litter box scooper. I solved this by purchasing this ” Amco Stainless Steel Magnetic Pocket Organizer with Note Pad and Pen “. It magnetically sticks to the side of this trash can and is the perfect place to store the scooper. It looks like it was made for it.

I love it, it fits well in the area I wanted to placed it in. i am going to use it to collect the dryer lint from our dryer. The removable liner will come in very handy when we go to empty it. I feel it is worth the value we paid it..
Metal trash cans certainly look better than the plastic ones. Therefore, they are preferred by homeowners as well. However, you will have to ensure that the size isn’t too big for the kitchen. Metal trash can is also good as it will not wear off easily. Good quality metal will not scrape off from the bottom holding the trash properly.
We hope that you found our review of the best metal trash can with lid informative and helpful and you were able to choose a good one for your requirement.
