How often do you admire the painting on the wall or the sophisticated and stylish wall clock on the drywall? But have you ever given a thought to the fact that these things look beautiful because the fasteners or the anchors that hold them in place are bearing their weight. There are so many things that are hung on the walls, concrete surfaces, ceilings and other places. The reason why we can hang so many things easily is because we have a varied range of fasteners and anchors for the purpose.
Anchors can be of varied types including expansion anchors, hollow anchors, threaded drywall anchors and toggles, sleeve type anchors, winged anchors and so on. You need to find the right type so that you are able to hang the things that you want to without the tension that it might fall. You must choose the anchor based on variables like the type of object being hung and the type and surface on which it will be hung.
We did some research and have compiled a list of the best drywall fasteners and anchors available in the market. These anchors and fasteners have been reviewed with regard to their material of construction, size, length, strength and price.

I live in a modular out in the forest. The drywall in the place is pretty thin; maybe 3/8″.I was pleasantly surprised that these anchors worked perfectly even in thin drywall.I always pre-drill a small pilot hole and this avoids any drift while the “self drilling” anchor is going into the drywall and greatly eases the self drilling process. I found that a larger than typical #3 phillips tip fits the anchor better preventing wobbling while drilling/driving. Easily done.I had to place 4 pairs of these fairly close together for some Pinpoint AM10 speaker mounts. I was concerned that the anchors placed close together might cause the drywall to crumble. I needn’t have worried. While they get a strong purchase in the drywall, I saw no crumbling at all.The speakers/speaker mounts are very securely mounted to the drywall thanks to these anchors.Suggestion: First off, if it’s a 2 or 3 speed drill, set drill to lowest gearing for low speed. Next, when the self-drill advances to threading the anchor into the wall, stop short of fully seating the anchor with your drill and carefully hand tighten the last bit til flush with wall. This extra 10 seconds makes for an extra secure and strong anchor. Whereas, even a little bit of over-tightening when driving with a drill can ruin the anchor’s purchase in the drywall because drywall can go to dust pretty quickly with just a little too much abuse.Properly installed, these are very strong. Highly recommended!Caveat: Not sure how well these would work in plaster walls, but then, they’re called “drywall anchors” and not plaster anchors. 😉

I’ll be reviewing this item based off of using standard drywall anchors. In the past, I would have to get my drill and a bit. I would mark where I wanted to drill, put the drill bit in, drill the hole out. Drilling the hole would always leave a pile of drywall dust and get everywhere. I would then have to bang in the plastic anchor, swap in the screw head bit and drill the screw in.These anchors simplify everything so much! With one bit, I drill the anchors in. They go straight in, leaving very little drywall dust! They also seem a lot stronger and more secure then your standard anchors. I was able to put 10 of these in within minutes! It’s a great kit and everyone should have this at home for when you need to hang items in your house. A bonus, the unscrew easily if you need to take them out.I’ve put about 40 of these in already through out my house and I still have yet to have one break or not work. I’d often ruin your standard anchors a few times, banging them in the wall.I have attached a few pictures. These works great for cable management! I screwed down my zip ties with these anchors for a nice, clean look. In the pictures the anchors were used for the zip ties. They were also used for that floating server shelf. I used a total of 4, for that shelf. That shelf was rock solid on the wall with zero play. It probably weighs about 20lbs and these anchors held it with no problem!

These look a lot like other anchors you may have used, but they are way better. After using these, I will not buy anything else. This is a superior product and if you need to anchor something into drywall it is what you should buy.I have installed hundreds of drywall anchors over the years so I have become somewhat of an expert on them. These always do the job with minimal hassle. Whenever possible, I pre-drill a hole to insert these into. It’s not necessary, but it does make the installation easier. I use a drill bit slightly smaller than the diameter of the “drill” part of the anchor before the threads so they go in nice and snug. With a pilot hole drilled, I install the anchors by hand with a screwdriver, not using a drill. For the best strength, it is important to get them screwed into the drywall just the right amount. While it is possible to do this with a drill (I have done lots that way too), doing it by hand ensures the best results. I usually end up getting the face of the anchor approximately flush with the surface of the drywall. After you have put a few of them in you get a good feel for how much torque is required. They can be installed with just a hand screwdriver if you don’t have a drill, but it will take a bit of work and a few minutes. Or you can use a drill to install them without drilling a pilot hole first, they will drill themselves into the wall. Just be careful not to drive them into the wall too far. Just a hair too much and the drywall strips out, and you now have a large useless hole in your wall.Anytime I have run out of these and been forced to use whatever I can pick up locally I almost always end up frustrated. Some of them are brittle and either snap in two while you are installing them, or the screw bites into the anchor too well and the whole anchor spins inside the hole in the drywall. Both ways other anchors can fail usually lead to a too-large hole in the wall and a mess to clean up, so you now have to move you anchor over a few inches or use a different style anchor like a toggle bolt. Whenever I have a bad experience with one of those other anchors it makes me want to buy massive quantities of these just so I never have to go through that annoyance again. These hold a surprising amount of weight. I’ve mounted lots of things to walls with them over the years (and a few things to ceilings) and I’ve never been disappointed. Just use a proportionate number of anchors to how large/heavy your object is. They are strong, but use some common sense – don’t expect to use 2 of these to hold your 60″ plasma TV to the wall.

I’d bought some Omnimount AB1 surround sound speaker mounts. The included drywall anchors were junk, so I bought these TOGGLER’s after watching a comparitve Youtube review featuring several brands. All I can say is they work. All four went in without a problem. I liked that firm “snap” or “pop” heard to let you know when the anchor is firmly locked in the wall. Outside of the junk drywall anchors the Omnimount AB1’s worked well for my project and I highly recommend both products.

I’ve had an incredibly challenging time hanging photos in arrays. No matter the approach, I always ended up with multiple attempts, several nail holes and results that never looked quite perfect. The beehive hangers definitely take a bit longer, as you’re mounting two ‘hive’ units on each frame. I had a difficult time getting the screws to take in my inexpensive frame, but was able to find small nails that worked.Because the units are at each corner of the top of the frame, the pictures are less susceptible to falling off-kilter from vibration or accidental contact. At the end of the day, I’m a convert and have already ordered more to re-hang the other frame sets I’ve hanged in the past that aren’t quite right. I highly recommend.Pro tips:Use scotch tape to secure the ‘hive’ unit to the back of the frame while screwing or nailing it to the frame. Then, remove the tape.If you have textured walls and the small dots on the wall the hive unit makes to help position the hanger, just put a dab of toothpaste on the hive unit to mark the place on the wall

This product is as advertised and has done the job. I wanted to secure a heated towel bar to the wall. There were no studs in the desired location. Since the bar has some weight to it, I did not want to have any “pull away”. Using this anchor, I do not foresee any problem. These anchors certainly seem up to the task.
